Choosing your acrylic

What is the difference between matt and gloss?

Gloss acrylic has a polished, reflective surface. Matt acrylic has a lower-sheen appearance. Perspex® Sweet Pastels sheets have a satin-matt face and a gloss reverse, while Perspex® Naturals has a matte-effect finish. Check each listing for the exact surface finish.

What thicknesses are available?

Our coloured acrylic sheet range is primarily 3mm. Clear Perspex® sheets are available in 3mm and 5mm, single-sided frost in 3mm, and mirror acrylic in 3mm. Greenhouse replacement panels are offered in 2mm, 3mm and 5mm. HIPS mirror is a separate polystyrene material, available in 2mm.

Can I compare colours before ordering?

Yes. Our acrylic sample sets cover Pink, Blue, Green, Neutral and Mirror finishes. Samples are sold as sets; check each listing for the contents and price. Colours can vary with lighting, screens and manufacturing batches.

Can I laser cut these materials?

Acrylic can be cut and engraved with compatible CO₂ laser equipment. Compatibility depends on the material and machine, so follow the product and machine guidance. Clear acrylic is generally unsuitable for cutting with standard diode lasers. Do not assume Foamex or HIPS mirror has the same cutting requirements as acrylic.

Do you offer custom cutting?

Visit our laser cutting service or email info@roseacrylics.co.uk with your dimensions, artwork and requirements. Confirm complex work and pricing before ordering.

How should I clean acrylic?

Use a soft, lint-free cloth with mild soap and water, then dry gently. Avoid abrasive pads and cleaners. Follow the specific product guidance, particularly for mirror surfaces and backing.

Can sheets be used outdoors?

Suitability depends on the material, finish, fixing method and exposure. Check the individual listing before choosing material for an outdoor project; mirror acrylic and HIPS mirror require particular care.

Ordering, delivery and returns

When is UK delivery free?

Standard UK delivery is free on orders over £75. Other delivery charges and available services are shown at checkout.

When will my order arrive?

We aim to dispatch standard orders within 24 hours on working days. Standard UK delivery usually takes 1–2 working days after dispatch. Custom-cut orders normally need up to 2 working days for dispatch; check the relevant service listing for any different production time.

Can I return an order?

For standard goods bought online by UK consumers, notify us within 14 days of delivery, then return them within a further 14 days. Genuinely bespoke or personalised goods have different cancellation rules. Faulty-goods rights still apply. Read our Shipping & Returns page for the full details.
